  • Arhar ki daal-1 cup
  • Onion-1 (medium size)
  • Ginger/Garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
  • White Cumin-1 tbsp (bhunna hua Pissa hua)
  • Meethi Dana-1/2 tsp (Bhunni or pissi hui)
  • Coriander Powder-1 tbsp
  • Red Pepper Powder-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric-1 tsp
  • Bottle Gourd (lambi lauki)-1
  • Brinjal-1
  • Green Chili-4
  • Potato-1 medium
  • Mongre ki phali-3
  • Tomato-2
  • Tamarind Syrup-1/2 cup
  • Salt-To taste

For Baghar

  • Curry Leave-few
  • Red Pepper Flask-6
  • Rai dana-1 tsp
  • Oil-1 cup


  • Washed the lentils (daal) with warm water and put it into cooking owl.
  • After that add Ginger/Garlic paste, cumin, fenugreek seeds (meethi dana), Coriander powder, onion, 3 cup warm water and cook it over slow flame.
  • When lentils get soft then add vegetables, tamarind syrup, and cook it until vegetables get soft.
  • When vegetables and lentils get soft then prepare bhagar.
  • Take a pan put oil and all the ingredients of bhagar in it now cook it well.
  • After that add Samber in this bhagar.
